The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), spearheads the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Program. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to create 2 million digital jobs by 2025. The program is a crucial part of Nigeria’s Renewed Hope agenda and focuses on developing the technical skills required to strengthen the country’s digital economy. Through collaboration with training providers, organizations, and partners, the 3MTT program aims to position Nigeria as a global leader in exporting technical talent.

Scholarship Information:

The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Program is designed to build a strong foundation of technical skills among Nigerian youth. The first phase of this initiative started in December 2023, training 30,000 fellows from all 36 states and the FCT. Participants engage in hybrid training, including self-paced online learning and in-person sessions.

Phase two will train 270,000 individuals in three cohorts of 60,000, 90,000, and 120,000. The program focuses on 12 core technical skills, such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, and more. Fellows are equipped to compete in both local and global markets. Training is executed in partnership with state governments, development agencies, and learning clusters across the country.

Requirements:

  1. Open to all Nigerians across all 36 states and the FCT.
  2. Candidates must complete an entry assessment to determine skill level.
  3. Must participate in hybrid training sessions (online and in-person).
  4. Organizations without physical facilities must arrange for access to one for in-person sessions.
  5. Fellows will receive training in one of 12 selected technical skills:
    • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
    • Animation
    • Cloud Computing
    • UI/UX Design
    • Data Analysis and Visualization
    • Data Science
    • DevOps
    • Game Development
    • Product Management
    • Quality Assurance
    • Software Development
    • Cybersecurity

  • For Fellows: Sign up to receive training in a chosen technical skill and prepare for the entry assessment to determine the appropriate course.
  • For Training Providers: Apply to join the pool of trainers for the 3MTT Program and help design an optimal approach for training and placing technical talent.
