Internal Auditor Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a detailed audit Reports that outlines the findings and weaknesses; recommend areas of improvement and corrective actions.
• Inspect the organization’s financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with the enabling laws.
• To review and analyze financial records and statements to ensure accuracy, integrity and transparency in line with audit standards.
• To evaluate and assess management processes and internal controls.
• Investigate irregularities, potential frauds and recommend measures to prevent any observed fraud in the organization.
• Conduct follow-up audits to ensure that management has implemented the recommended corrective actions from previous Audit.
• Develop financial strategies to reduce inefficiency while ensuring compliance.
• Work in a team to determine the scope of Company’s audit and provide a comprehensive Annual Report.
• Develop audit plans and programs.
• Ensure that the company complies with the relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Lend assistance in case of a general audit.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct.
• Undertake other responsibilities that may be assigned to him/her by the Management.
• Liaise with Finance and Accounts Unit for the day-to-day financial operations.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate should possess a B.Sc or HND in Accounting.
• Should possess a minimum of 5 years cognate working experience in auditing, with a strong background in financial analysis, risk management, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in audit software and MS Office applications
• A member of Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) will be an added advantage.
