The Peace Prize is organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat in collaboration with the Khalili Foundation. The Khalili Foundation is renowned for fostering interfaith harmony and cultural understanding. Together, they aim to spotlight and support individuals committed to building sustainable peace across diverse cultures, religions, and communities within the Commonwealth.

Scholarship Information:

The Commonwealth Peace Prize recognizes an individual with exceptional contributions to peacebuilding within Commonwealth societies. This prize is part of the Commonwealth Faith Festival and Faith in the Commonwealth Initiative.

The recipient must demonstrate a proven track record of resolving conflicts, fostering dialogue, and creating long-lasting peace. The winner receives a £50,000 financial award, along with a citation and letter of recognition. Nominees must embody Commonwealth values such as tolerance, respect, cultural and religious diversity, and inclusive development.

Requirements:

Eligible candidates must:

• Be over 30 years old and a citizen of a Commonwealth country
• Have a long-standing record of impactful peacebuilding efforts
• Serve as a trusted mediator in conflict resolution
• Develop sustainable dialogue methods that promote lasting peace and social cohesion
• Promote Commonwealth values such as tolerance, respect, and cultural diversity
• Incorporate principles of faith or the Commonwealth Charter in their work
• Be eligible even if previously recognized with international peace awards

2. Include the nominee’s impact biography, detailing how they meet the criteria.
