Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and inventory accounting, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring reconciliation and balance accuracy.
- Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Oversee financial audits, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and efficient auditing processes.
- Develop and enforce financial policies and controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including monitoring and analyzing spending, revenues, and overall financial trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial and accounting processes, promoting efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare financial reports, analyses, and presentations for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Stay updated on the latest financial laws, regulations, and best practices in the FMCG industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACCA, ICAN, or a similar accounting qualification is required.
- Minimum 8 – 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a Senior Accounting or equivalent role within the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and implementing financial control systems within an FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, budgeting processes, and variance analysis.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to analyze large volumes of data and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide junior team members effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to a diverse audience.
- Proven track record of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
