Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in inspection or asset integrity management within the oil and gas industry.
- Certifications: Recognized certifications (such as CSWIP, API, ASNT, AWS) in plant or welding inspection are advantageous.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of RBI, corrosion prevention, NDT techniques, metallurgy, and oil & gas production facilities.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (API RP 510, 570, 580, 579, 576, 571 & ASME VIII).
- Proficiency in SAP and excellent communication skills, especially in report writing.
- In-depth expertise in NDT methods and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee asset integrity inspection plans onsite, ensuring compliance with company rules and industry standards.
- Plan and execute statutory and non-statutory inspections of assets including piping, pressure vessels, pipelines, and lifting equipment.
- Coordinate and supervise inspection activities during plant shutdowns and non-shutdown periods.
- Ensure safety equipment, including safety relief valves and pressurized systems, are inspected and functioning correctly.
- Conduct inspections of maintenance and construction projects to verify adherence to safety standards, welding procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise third-party contractors performing NDT tests and inspections.
- Maintain records in SAP and RBI software, providing accurate data and reporting findings for further analysis.
- Propose and implement necessary repairs in collaboration with inspection managers and site teams.
Context & Environment:
- Oversee inspections in offshore environments such as FPSO systems, subsea production, and oil offload lines, as well as onshore operations.
- The role is based on a rotational schedule, typically 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, with responsibilities extending to maintaining inspection tools and coordinating with NDT technicians.
- Liaise with various internal departments (Maintenance, HSE, Production) and external contractors to ensure the smooth execution of inspection activities.
- Monitor compliance with HSE policies, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
